This is likely the alienassa sub species. I'm not sure what it is feeding on, some decomposing insect?
''Ithomia iphianassa'' is a species of butterfly of the family Nymphalidae. It is found in Central and northern South America.
The larvae feed on ''Cuatresia riparia'', ''Cuatresia morii'', and ''Acnistus arborescens''.
They are a beautiful specie of butterfly.
