Tricholoma odorum
Dry, finely hairy, pale tan cap. The gills were yellow and were attached to the stem and close. The stem had an enlarged base and was yellow with orange-brown discoloration. I've nicknamed this mushroom the "old buttshroom".
Habitat: Growing on the ground in a mixed forest – in an area with mostly eastern hemlock and pine.
