A red and blue katydid from Ghana This seemed like an insect that would be really easy to identify, but I had trouble finding anything that looked like this. Finally I came across a single photograph from the great Piotr Naskrecki taken in neighboring Guinea that shows a katydid with these same crazy colors, and I'm reasonably confident that this must be the same species. Piotr's photograph can be found in various places around the web (not always properly attributed), including: https://www.gettyimages.com/detail/photo/katydid-the-black-blue-and-orange-high-res-stock-photography/73804420 Geotagged,Ghana,Plastocorypha vandicana,Summer Click/tap to enlarge PromotedSpecies introCountry intro
