Dragonfly, La Isla Escondida, Colombia The set I have shared so far of our 2018 Colombia trip was a 2 hour warm-up session on the outskirts of the city of Orito, you can find this subset here:

57Orito

On this day after, our real trip would start as we would enter the jungle and stay for 5 nights in La Isla Escondida, so I'll be grouping that location under this tag:

1103La Isla Escondida

It's going to be a big subset as close to 50% of photos in our total set come from this one awesome location.

Back on topic: this first observation is obviously a dragonfly, an interesting pattern is that throughout this year's trip we did not see that many of them, and most that we saw looked pretty dull like this. A strange anomaly to the incredible diversity of other insect orders in Colombia.
It looks like it may be a difficult one to identify, but will try on FB in some enthusiast groups. Colombia,Colombia 2018,Colombia South,La Isla Escondida,Putumayo,South America,Uracis fastigiata,World Click/tap to enlarge Species introCountry intro

  1. Update: got the ID via an expert on Facebook. Reference:

There's similar ones in the genus but this shot is clear enough that he could base it on wing details.
