A missed opportunity, as I misread the situation here. From a distance I figured the yellow to be a rotten spot on the leaf, only now do I see it's a nest.

    1. That's interesting. I came across it in my search and initially dismissed it as most results show a yellow-only abdomen that lacks white. Checking some more results I do see white specimens, such as here:

        I have never seen a spider with a yellow egg sac, and think it's so interesting because it really stands out! You'd think it should blend in more.
