Fairy Fingers (Clavaria fragilis) Growing in moist soil (pushing up from leaf litter) at a forested edge of an overgrown backyard habitat (transition from grass to more leaf-litter). Most specimens were unbranched (the occasional had one branch) and clustered.<br />

    1. This was the group of fungi that distracted me yesterday, Ferdy! :D They were fresh and pushing up through the leaf litter! I was just glad that the recent frosts hadn't dissuaded them from doing so! Posted 6 years ago, modified 6 years ago

''Clavaria fragilis'', commonly known as fairy fingers, white worm coral, or white spindles, is a species of fungus in the family Clavariaceae. It is synonymous with ''Clavaria vermicularis''.
