Common crane - Grus grus I made a special trip to the Black Sea - Atanasovsko lake near Burgas - to find these beautiful birds. Very shy birds, passing through Bulgaria during the migration. This year a record number was observed - about 260 birds - as from early 2000's. Only for a couple of days. Unfortunately I had no chance to make closer photos. Yesterday we saw them high in the sky leaving Bulgaria to the south - the estuary of Maritza river in Greece.
