This Moth was attracted by light at night to the Hotel, seen outside my Hotel room.

It could possibly be Tomato Green Looper, locally in Fiji called Green Semi-Looper - Chrysodeixis eriosoma. This Moth or specifically the Caterpillars are considered a pest.

  1. This is some sort of Looper moth I believe. Look towards Subfamily Plusiinae.

    This looks really similar to the Soybean Looper moth, but I'm not sure if it is within your distribution! Perhaps it is something similar?

      I found that this it could possibly be Chrysodeixis eriosoma - Tomato Green Looper documented in Fiji and in Fiji, its called Green Semi-Looper. Looks like the caterpillars are considered a pest :(

        Yes, a lot of loopers are considered pests, but I don't necessarily see them that way. :) I blame humans for wanting "perfect" monocultures! It is like putting a feast in front of insects and expecting them not to enjoy themselves.

The Green Garden Looper is a moth of the family Noctuidae. Mostly cosmopolitan distribution, it is a serious pest found throughout Wadelai, Aden, Japan, China, throughout the Indian, Sri Lanka, Malayan, and Australasian regions. It is present in Hawaii and recorded as an incursion in mainland North America and Russia.
