Black Hornbill - Anthracoceros malayanus This is a male Black Hornbill - Anthracoceros malayanus, feeding and collecting the Palm fruits to feed its partner, a female that was 'holed' up in a tree nearby. Hornbills pairs for life and when the female has laid her eggs, she stays in a 'hole/crevice' in a tree trunk to incubate her eggs and this hole will be closed that she will not be able to get out. It is her partner, the male that will find and bring foods back to her, until the eggs are hatched. Anthracoceros malayanus,Bird,Black Hornbill,Hornbill,Malaysia,Sabah Click/tap to enlarge
