
Dotted Stem Bolete - Neoboletus luridiformis
Bolete with a brown, soft cap that bruised when handled. The pores were bright red/orange and bruised blue. The stipe was yellow, long, curved, and bruised when handled. The flesh bruised blue when cut open.
Habitat: Growing on the ground in a deciduous forest.

''Neoboletus luridiformis'', known until 2014 as ''Boletus luridiformis'', is a fungus of the bolete family, all of which produce mushrooms with tubes and pores beneath their caps. It is found in Northern Europe and North America, and is commonly known as the dotted stem bolete.
