Peziza cerea
autocorrect just tried to make this pizza cereal... but anyway.. Calling it P. cerea due to the light color and growth on wood, but also just read this... "Collections designated as P. cerea, P. repanda, and P. micropus do not differ from P. varia enough to be separable as species, macroscopically, microscopically or molecularly"... at least according to one expert - others may disagree :P
Oh.. and I spotted this quite randomly... my battery needed changing and I was having a time juggling everything in my hands, so I walked over to the log to set something down for a minute - voila.

''Peziza cerea'', commonly known as the Cellar Cup is a species of Ascomycete fungus in the genus ''Peziza'', family Pezizaceae. In common with other Ascomycetes the upper surface of the fungus has a layer of cylindrical spore producing cells called asci, from which the ascospores are forcibly discharged.
