Early Autumn - Where a Meadow Meets a Pine Forest

This is one of my favorite forest clearings on the Arrowhead Interpretive Wildlife Trail in Floyd County, GA.

It was quite a dreary day when I photographed this, but you can see some of the autumn colors starting to pop. :)

  I just want to go romping through this field. However, the grasses and plants are above chest-high on me, so I have the feeling i'd be covered in ticks and chiggers. :D Posted 6 years ago

    Haha, yes! So, then, it would be over my head, lol? I used to romp through fields like this and would come home covered in spiders and ticks. Chiggers would be terrible though. Posted 6 years ago

    Lovely place! Replying with a tip here so that both of you see this:
    
    In the identification dialog, you can indicate that no main species is in the scene, and therefore it is a landscape. By doing this, the photo will not "count" as being unidentified, since no main species is there. By doing this, the photo will not show up in the "unidentified" overview seen here:
