Morning Glory Moth - ghosting, Heesch, Netherlands
I hope this freaks you out, because I'm certainly trying. I found this plume moth on the glass of our garden door and did not plan for this quadruple reflection. It can be explained though: main flash + 2 x ring flash units + daylight = 4 light sources. I darkened the scene to dramatize the effect a bit, and to hide how nasty the glass is when magnified.
Closeup:

The T-Moth or Morning-glory Plume Moth is a moth of the family Pterophoroidae. It is found in Europe, Japan, central Asia, North Africa and North America. The wingspan is 18-27 mm. The moths fly nearly year-round.

I think your adjustments worked perfectly. The contrast makes these photos very dramatic and crisp! <3 Posted 6 years ago
