
Suillus cothurnatus
Growing in soil/grass beneath pines in a public park in Floyd County, GA, US. October 5, 2018.
-Flavor of cap/slime is very sour. Odor not distinctive.
-No major bruising/discoloration when cut/sliced (sorry for no photos there).
-Red, glandular dots cover entirety of stem. Some have aged to a black color near base.
-Cream to yellow, gelatinous annulus.

''Suillus cothurnatus'' is a species of mushroom in the genus ''Suillus''. Found in Malaysia, Brazil, and North America, it was first described scientifically by mycologist Rolf Singer in 1945.
