  1. Epic name! Were you indeed nodding along? Posted 6 years ago
    1. Yes! :D I love finding orchids! I always nod my head in approval when I run across them! Posted 6 years ago
      1. I'm nodding too. Our guide of our upcoming trip is teasing me as he is pre-exploring the area we're about to visit. He's seeing quite a few orchids of the lepanthes genus, which are incredibly tiny yet beautiful:

        1. Fantastic! I can't wait to hear back from you after your trip! I'm sure you will be busy in the coming months (with IDs and photo editing)?
And ooohhhh! Cool genus! I have more to add to my orchids list it seems!

          1. Oh yes, the yearly trip usually acts as my main stock. To get the most out of it, I share them in small batches here. I like that, because it gives me ample time to process each and also to put effort into the species. It generally takes me 6 to 8 months to share the whole set here. The slow pace is intentional. Dumping a 1,000 photos at once on somebody's head isn't a great strategy in my experience.

That part is fine. What is less fun is that Henriette wants to get a printed book of the trip asap, each year. That means I actually do have to process the entire set at once, just for that purpose. It's about 60 hours of work squeezed in a few days and even then I'm rushing things. Plus I write an extensive travel report on my blog. Oh, and I also have to produce a "highlights" gallery to showcase on an iPad to family and such.

The week after returning is pretty stressful :)
