    1. My pleasure - in a weird kind of way, it was actually satisfying to see the creature that bit me during the night. Usually it's just a case of waking up and feeling the effects of the bite. Hopefully I won't contact Zika and have a shrunken head...time will tell. Posted 6 years ago

"Aedes albopictus" is a mosquito native to the tropical and subtropical areas of Southeast Asia; however, in the past few decades, this species has spread to many countries through the transport of goods and international travel. It is characterized by the white bands on its legs and body.
