Straight-stalked Entoloma - Entoloma strictius

Cap was smooth, finely silky, butterscotch-colored cap. Brownish, nearly distant gills. Cream-colored stipe that was finely silky.

Habitat: Growing on the ground in a mixed forest – with lots of oak, hemlock, pine, and birch.

Thanks Ferdy! It could be a psocopteran. I had assumed that it was a springtail. Too bad I didn't see it until I loaded the pics onto my computer as I would have liked to get a closer look at it. It's amazing the details that are missed while in the field! Posted 7 years ago
