  1. Ernst... I agree it is a female.
    The accepted name on ALA is Philomastix xanthophylax (Naumann & Groth, 1998) although I note that Rick Nattrass has spelled it and quoted another description source here... http://www.brisbaneinsects.com/brisbane_sawflies/BrambleSawfly.htm
    Personally I think we should go with the AFD (Australian Faunal Directory) which is what ALA uses. What do you think?

    We will be for one month in Skye in about 5 weeks time and will spend time in the Langwarrin Flora reserve. Maybe we can catch up.

    1. hi Ernst, want to give you a tip: when you reply to somebody, it's best to use the "reply" link on the comment you want to reply to. This way that person get's a notification. Right now, you're post a comment under another comment, this does not trigger a notification, so the person you're addressing may never see your answer.
