Slender Sharksucker - Echeneis naucrates

This Slender Sharksucker - Echeneis naucrates got their name for attaching themselves to mostly Sharks but also Turtles, Manta Rays and other big sized marine life. They are also commonly called Remora.

  There's too many of them in Fiji at the Shark's dive site and not enough Sharks for them to host them.
  Lots of them will even 'rest' on the side of ship wrecks while waiting for Sharks to show up during the feeding dives. But they are all well fed :D Posted 6 years ago

    Oh, I feel more pity for the dropping population of sharks..too much shark fining :-(
    Did they ever try to stick onto you? They sometimes try to stick to divers and can be really funny to be followed by them :-) Posted 6 years ago

      Yes, have experienced that several time, with instances they even stick to a diver's leg all the way until he was surfacing. Posted 6 years ago
