Rosy Conk - Rhodofomes cajanderi Saprobic on a dead, rotting conifer. It had Caps were brown and pink/red and the pore surface was pale pink. If you look closely on the lower right part of the fungus (red area), you'll see little scrape marks. These are from snails! Snails have a radula in their mouth. The radula is covered with small, sharp teeth. As the snail glides over a surface, it moves its head from side to side and scrapes up algae, etc. with it's radular teeth, which creates this pattern!

Habitat: On rotting, coniferous wood in a mixed forest.
