    1. Thank you, very pretty scene. I wish I could have been there at sunrise. This shot was looking SE. Posted 6 years ago
  2. Nice!

Another thing to experiment with is to effectively create a panorama that is two rows tall. I'm just speaking from my own experience where no matter how beautiful a panorama, very few people will get to experience it as intended. Not on a phone, not on a desktop. Simply because they do not have the display for it. I get to experience it on the above photo when stretching the image across my 2 x 27" 1440p screens, then one sees its true glory, but I imagine that to be an exceptional way to see it.

Two rows tall can still be considered a panorama, it's less wide in its ratio, but its easier to experience all the details for most people. In any case, shooting two rows tall never hurts, you can simply crop away if you don't like it. Or shoot the panorama in portrait mode, but maybe you already do that, hard to tell.

Printed panoramas are awesome, don't see a lot of those in people's living rooms :)

    1. I have taken both two up and verti-panos and both are very effective. On this day we were in the park for only a drive through and I was not expecting to even take out my camera due to it being mid afternoon and the lighting was horrible. Nevertheless I jumped out of the truck with my camera mounted with a 100-400 lens and quickly snapped off a few shots handheld more or less on the run. It is a worthy scene to plan a trip early morning for a crazy sunrise shot from a tripod and really capture the beauty of this area. I feel fortunate that I was able to capture the breadth of this pano under the circumstances. Posted 6 years ago
