Lesser Yellowlegs - Tringa flavipes
I debated whether this bird (on the left) was a greater or lesser yellowlegs, but *think* it is a lesser yellowlegs. But, it also resembles a Solitary Sandpiper or a Stilt Sandpiper. Any input is welcome!
They have a long, dark bill, small head, yellow legs, and streaking on their breast. Brown wings with white spots and white underparts.
Habitat: In the intertidal zone, foraging with friends, including the Semipalmated Sandpiper pictured in the lower right.

The Lesser Yellowlegs is a medium-sized shorebird similar in appearance to the larger Greater Yellowlegs. It is not closely related to this bird, however, but instead to the much larger and quite dissimilar Willet; merely the fine, clear and dense pattern of the neck shown in breeding plumage indicates these species' actual relationships.
