      I need some help on ID characters for this genus, too* I have some old records (not from mine) of O. purpureolineatus of this area, and none of the other three species(?) for the PT territory. Doesn’t seem robustus or caudatus, but... a cross check is always most welcome. Please let me know what you think, and how to separate each species. Thanks so much my friend* Posted 7 years ago

The Odontotarsus purpureolineatus

Odontotarsus purpureolineatus is a species of true bugs, also known as shield-backed bugs due to the enlargement of the thoracic scutellum into a continuous shield over the abdomen and wings.
