A Saw-tailed Lizard (Holaspis guentheri) perched on a large tree trunk I saw a few of these very small lizards for a brief period in the afternoon while the sun was out. I saw a few of these very small lizards for a brief period in the afternoon while the sun was out. They were extremely skittish, disappearing under flaps of bark whenever they noticed my presence.

Holaspis guentheri is one of the two species in the lacertid genus Holaspis, found in West Africa, Central Africa, and a few spots in East Africa. These very small lizards have some ability to glide as they leap from a tree to the ground.
