Habitat: I found tons of these incredibly slimy mushrooms growing alone and in clusters all throughout a pine forest.<br />

Chicken Fat Mushroom - Suillus americanus

Viscid yellow, flat caps with reddish brown fibers and scales. Yellow, angular pores that bruise reddish brown. Stems similar to the caps.

Commonly known as the chicken fat mushroom, the American slippery Jack , or the American suillus, it grows in a mycorrhizal association with eastern white pine and can be found where this tree occurs in eastern North America and China.
