Frost's Bolete - Butyriboletus frostii The cap was very sticky, blood red in color, and nearly flat. The pores were red, flesh was yellow, and the stipe was reticulate. Frost's Bolete - Butyriboletus frostii

The cap was very sticky, blood red in color, and nearly flat. The pores were red, flesh was yellow, and the stipe was reticulate. The flesh and pores bruised blue.

Habitat: Growing between a meadow and a coniferous forest.

The Frost's Bolete

Previously known as Exsudoporus frostii. This bolete fungus is easily identified by its sticky red cap, dark bluing reaction, and golden exudate droplets.
