We had a friend from the Netherlands visit over a decade ago (when we were living in Boston), and it was very easy to pick up on some parts of the language. The same goes for all Germanic languages I guess? I can definitely pick up on similar words in the Swedish language too (one of my best friends is Swedish)! Posted 7 years ago
