Cuckoo Wasp (Chrysis angolensis)
Metallic/iridescent, emerald green and blue hymenopteran perching on bushes by my compost pile. Defensively curled its abdomen when I approached and then began running in circles and waggling its wings (alternating the extension of its wings from left side to right side)
Habitat:
Overgrown back yard/field. Mostly sweetgum trees nearby.
