Flatheaded Appletree Borer - Chrysobothris femorata
Total length: ~10 mm. I was taking a picture of the gall on this oak leaf when this little beetle landed on the leaf. It was only there for a split second, but I managed to at least get a shot of it before it flew off!
Habitat: Along a nature trail - with lots of apple trees - on the edge of a deciduous forest.

''Chrysobothris femorata'', the flatheaded appletree borer, is a species of metallic wood-boring beetle in the family Buprestidae. It is found in Central America and North America.
