White-dotted Prominent - Nadata gibbosa
This caterpillar doesn't look like the typical white-dotted prominent caterpillar because it was most likely getting ready to pupate!
Habitat: I found this caterpillar under an oak tree along a nature trail in a deciduous forest.

The rough prominent is a moth of the family Notodontidae, possibly in the subfamily Notodontidae. It is also known as the white-dotted prominent and the tawny prominent. This common moth is found across North America from the northern boreal forests to as far south as Florida.
