Russell's Bolete (Aureoboletus russellii)
TENTATIVE ID. This may be the rare Aureoboletus russellii, but I'm looking into it!
Growing in leaf litter near downed trees on a ridge in a dense mixed hardwood/coniferous forest in NW Georgia (Gordon County), US.
Stalk exudes clear liquid droplets. Neon yellow pores almost immediately stain blue/green.

I spotted it a couple years ago and am wondering if the genus has changed from Boletellus since then? Posted 7 years ago
