
Hover Fly Parasite, Heeswijk-Dinther, Netherlands
Presumed species. Found on an oak leaf in a pine forest. This female imago was rapidly traversing the leaf, completely restless. I based identification on the banded legs of yellow and red, ending in black on the hind legs. Furthermore, the yellow marks on the top of the eyes.

Diplazon laetatorius, the Hover Fly Parasite, is a parasitoid wasp with a worldwide distribution. It is a parasitoid of a wide range of Diptera, especially aphidophagous syrphid flies (more than 50 host species reported in Syrphidae).
