
Roody's Bolete (Boletus roodyi)
TENTATIVE ID.
Growing beneath pines and maple trees in a public park in NW Georgia (Floyd County), US.
Yellow pores darken with damage but no real staining. White flesh and stem do not stain.
Flavor: Mild/pleasant.
Chemical Analysis:
Iron Salts: Gray on pileus. Light olive to gray on pore surface.
KOH: Flashes gray/blue and resolves to bright yellow. Light amber to gray on flesh. Pale amber on pore surface.
Ammonia: Red, resolving to pale yellow-orange on pileus. Olive-gray on pore surface.
