Hermit Crab Anemone (Verrillactis paguri and Calliactis polypus)
Monument, Lembeh.
This is a back view of the same crab (Dardanus pedunculatus) with his anemones. He seems fully dressed
and not having any more space for anemones unless he finds a bigger shell!
And actually I have just learned he has twotypes of anemones on its back so here I introduce the second species, Verrillactis paguri, which are the smaller flatter ones. I think like the one in the left below part of the picture with like dots is the Calliactis and the ones with stripes are the Verrilactis. See this link for more info:

Verrillactis paguri is a species of sea anemone in the family Sagartiidae. Another species of sea anemone, Calliactis polypus in the family Hormathiidae is sometimes seen together with V. paguri on the snail shell in which a hermit crab lives. While V. paguri attaches itself near the surroundings of the shell aperture, C. polypus is found on the top of the shell and extremities.
