Not exactly certain, but possibly Smooth-Coated Otter - Lutrogale perspicillata.
There are 4 known species of Otter recorded from Borneo :
1. Smooth-Coated Otter - Lutrogale perspicillata
2. Oriental Small-Clawed Otter - Amblonyx cinerea (smaller in size)
3. Eurasian Otter - Lutra lutra (not likely and record of it in Borneo could be questionable)
4. Hairy-nosed Otter - Lutra sumatrana (this is a rarer species to be found from Borneo).
The smooth-coated otter is an otter species occurring in most of the Indian subcontinent and Southeast Asia, with a disjunct population in Iraq. As its name indicates, the fur of this species is smoother and shorter than that of other otter species.
