  1. This might be Palthis asopialis. Posted 5 years ago
    1. Yikes, you're right. Pretty bad ID on my part. You can clearly see the line through the reniform spots, dark orbicular spots, and dark subterminal patches. Thanks for the correction. Posted 5 years ago
      1. You're welcome. The first thing that made me think this might not be Palthis angularis were the dark lines going across the wings. Then I started looking for the rusty patches. Had a hard time finding those. So I went to Bug Guide and saw that very often Palthis asopialis had dark lines across the wings but that didn't seem to be true of Palthis angularis. But the good news is you made a species intro.

        1. Lol, when I first saw your comment about the ID, I read my description and the part about the "rusty patches" had me scratching my head as there are NO rusty patches on my moth. I think I must have assumed the species and just copied and pasted the description from a previous spotting of mine. Oops, serious brainfart on my part. Posted 5 years ago
          1. Your last sentence rhymes with itself. Yes, I also noticed no rusty patches although there is light patch on the wing tips but not in the right place. Posted 5 years ago
            1. Lol, I was subconsciously rhyming. Posted 5 years ago
