  2. I love the cicada sounds in the summer. Here in Belgium we don't have or at least they are not common. In Spain yes, and also I have heard them in my trips to the tropical regions. i also remember them from the East coast in US. Cicada sound = warm summer for me :-) Posted 7 years ago
    1. To me, the sound is like a lullaby. Add frog and cricket songs to the mix, and I am one happy girl!

      And, yes, cicada songs often coincide with the hottest parts of summer!

"Neotibicen tibicen", known generally as the swamp cicada or morning cicada, is a species of cicada in the family Cicadidae. It used to be known as "Tibicen chloromerus". It is widespread across much of the eastern and central United States and portions of southeastern Canada.
