Frontinellina frutetorum, Heesch, Netherlands
Sheetweavers are very hard to identify, yet this is an exception due to its explicit abdomen, and the only species in this genus in the Netherlands. We call it the "double hammock spider". Hammock refers to its horizontal web. Note that the horizontal web is held in place by vertical lines which are the actual trap, after which victims fall on the horizontal sheet. The spider, hanging upside down as seen here, moves to the victim and delivers a fatal bite.
"Double hammock" refer to this spider making two horizontal sheets: one disc-like one top, and a square one below it.
They are quite small, this female at about 5-6mm, and a pain to photograph as the slightest wind moves them dramatically.
