Common Orange Lichen, Heesch, Netherlands

Growing on all 3 trees in our small backyard. In dutch named the "Great yolk moss", where "yolk" refers to the yellow core of an egg.

  I'm not sure if you commented before or after my change of species. I thought it was the "Small yolk moss", but it turns out to be the "Great yolk moss". Yolk in any case though :) To add to the confusion, there's also an "Orange yolk moss".

The Common Sunburst Lichen

Xanthoria parietina is a foliose, or leafy, lichen. It has wide distribution, and many common names such as common orange lichen, yellow scale, maritime sunburst lichen and shore lichen. It can be found near the shore on rocks or walls (hence the epithet parietina meaning "on walls"), and also on inland rocks, walls, or tree bark.
