Frost's Bolete - Butyriboletus frostii
Sadly, this mushroom was past its prime, but it was my first time finding frost's bolete, so I was super excited!
The cap was very sticky, blood red in color, and nearly flat. The pores were red, flesh was yellow, and the stipe was webbed. The flesh and pores bruised blue.
Growing on the ground in a deciduous forest.

Previously known as Exsudoporus frostii. This bolete fungus is easily identified by its sticky red cap, dark bluing reaction, and golden exudate droplets.
