Variable Antepione - Antepione thisoaria Wingspan: About 35 mm. Sexually dimorphic species - this is a female. Both sexes of the summer brood have yellow wings with brown subapical patches and a brown mark along the inner postmedial line.  However, males have reddish brown shading beyond the postmedial line.<br />

''Antepione thisoaria'', the variable antepione, is a moth of the family Geometridae. In Canada it is found from Nova Scotia to Manitoba, south into the United States south and west to the Gulf states, as well as Michoacan in Mexico and further south to Costa Rica and Guatemala.
