Amblyptilia acanthadactyla Plume Moth - closeup, Heesch, Netherlands My last entry for Moth Week 2018 before it closes. This one is very fresh, taken only one hour ago where I found it at rest on the kitchen wall.       Thanks, this is a pretty deep crop, only noticed it when inspecting at 100% zoom, and then a "hair" is still barely a pixel in size. Note sure how that translates to physical dimensions, but it sure is small. Posted 7 years ago

      Love them too, I will be on the lookout for them. Only 37 species in the Netherlands. Each is specialized in just a single plant so may be hard to find :) Posted 7 years ago

The Beautiful Plume Moth

"Amblyptilia acanthadactyla" is a moth of the family Pterophoroidea that can be found in Europe. It is also known from Iran and Georgia. The wingspan is 17–23 millimetres. The moth flies nearly year round. The larvae feed on various low growing plants.
