          1. I have my arsenal of ID tools (as I've mentioned to Ferdy in the past)! :D I am DEFINITELY NOT some badass expert (maybe one day, right?).

            I run it through the iNaturalist database if I don't already know the general family or if I want to see what genus it can come up with. I then take it to BugGuide or MONA and start narrowing it down further. If the first step fails, then it can sometimes take a little longer to sort through BugGuide or MONA--and that is when I turn to Facebook groups or the ID Request section of BugGuide.

The Maple Looper Moth is a species of moth of the Noctuidae family. It is found in eastern North America. The wingspan is 33–43 mm. Adults are on wing from April to September. There is one generation per year.
