      I was thinking Helvibotys sp.? The markings look VERY similar to Helvibotys helvialis. What do you think? https://bugguide.net/node/view/1216798

        1. It took me an hour or so of looking through Crambids on BugGuide to find that. LOL. Hopefully my obsession paid off. The shape/arrangement of the bands makes me think I'm in the right area. I posted on BugGuide and on facebook, so hopefully I will get some more feedback soon. Posted 7 years ago

''Helvibotys helvialis'' is a moth in the family Crambidae. It was described by Francis Walker in 1859. It is found in North America, where it has been recorded from California to Florida, north in the east to Massachusetts, Quebec, Ontario, Michigan and Iowa.

The wingspan is 18–20 mm for males and 16–20 mm for females. The forewings are variable, ranging from yellowish to orangish or tan with brown lines. The hindwings are similar to the forewings. Adults have been recorded.. more
