Australian Wanderer The Wanderer (Monarch in the Northern Hemisphere), has been present in this country since the 1870&#039;s. The species can be found in eastern and southern Australia - from Queensland, down through New South Wales and in to South Australia. The species makes limited migratory movements in cooler areas. <br />

The monarch butterfly or simply monarch is a milkweed butterfly in the family Nymphalidae. Other common names depending on region include milkweed, common tiger, wanderer, and black veined brown. It may be the most familiar North American butterfly, and is considered an iconic pollinator species.
