After spending a couple hours traipsing around some dense mangroves trying to get a look at this bloody skulker, the next day, this one popped up as I was walking down the street of the main town (admittedly it's a very small, very green town, but still), where it moved around for several minutes, at one point even perching on a telephone wire!       1. Haha my strategy is to try hard, but then allow an extra day to wander innocently and aimlessly through the area, and sure enough rare things often pop up then :) Posted 7 years ago

The mangrove cuckoo is a species of cuckoo that is native to the Neotropics. The mangrove cuckoo is a resident of southern Florida in the United States, the Bahamas, the Caribbean, both coasts of Mexico and Central America, and the Atlantic coast of South America as far south as the mouth of the Amazon River.
