Pale-winged Gray - Iridopsis ephyraria
Wingspan: at least 20 mm. Pale gray forewing with fragmented brown bands in basal and subterminal areas. Wavy black lines widen toward the costa. Postmedial line has a large bulge near the costa before merging with the wider median band. Elliptical, hollow discal spots mark the wings.
Attracted to a moth light in a rural area. This moth was really high up and I couldn't get a better shot. But, I thought this image was interesting because the moth looks like a face - kind of like a cross between an elephant and a koala.

''Iridopsis ephyraria'', the pale-winged gray, is a moth of the family Geometridae. It is found in the United States and southern Canada east of the Rocky Mountains, from New Brunswick to Florida, west to Texas and north to Alberta.
