American Yellow Dust Amanita - Amanita flavoconia Caps were about 4 cm diameter, orange, flat, and dry. They had a few scattered warts. The caps were attached at one point, but the stems were completely independent.  The gills were free, close, and white.  The stems were white/pale yellow, ended in a slightly enlarged base, and had skirtlike, yellowish rings.  <br />

American Yellow Dust Amanita - Amanita flavoconia

Caps were about 4 cm diameter, orange, flat, and dry. They had a few scattered warts. The caps were attached at one point, but the stems were completely independent. The gills were free, close, and white. The stems were white/pale yellow, ended in a slightly enlarged base, and had skirtlike, yellowish rings.

They were growing on the ground in a deciduous forest.

"Amanita flavoconia" is a species of mushroom in the family Amanitaceae. It has an orangish-yellow cap with yellowish-orange patches or warts, a yellowish-orange annulus, and a white to orange stem. Common and widespread throughout eastern North America, "Amanita flavoconia" grows on the ground in broad-leaved and mixed forests, especially in mycorrhizal association with hemlock.
