Virginian Tiger Moth - Spilosoma virginica 25 mm long.  Forewings and hindwings were pure white. Abdomen had yellow patches and rows of black spots.  Coxa and femur of forelegs were orange and black. Legs are striped.<br />

"Spilosoma virginica" is a species of moth in the Arctiinae subfamily. As a caterpillar, it is known as the Yellow woolly bear or Yellow bear caterpillar. As an adult, it is known as the Virginia tiger moth.
