Spotted Thyris - Thyris maculata Chunky, day-flying moth that I saw on the edge of a deciduous forest. It was taking nectar from flowers.  The wings were blackish brown and the body had some specks of orange. The forewing and hindwing have small, translucent spots in the central median area.  It was approximately 10 mm long. Spotted Thyris - Thyris maculata

Chunky, day-flying moth that I saw on the edge of a deciduous forest. It was taking nectar from flowers. The wings were blackish brown and the body had some specks of orange. The forewing and hindwing have small, translucent spots in the central median area. It was approximately 10 mm long.
